Büyükelçi Jeffry L. Flake: Tebrikler Türkiye, yüzüncü yıl kutlu olsun!
As we commemorate 100 years since the founding of the Turkish Republic, we pause to reflect on and appreciate the rich history of partnership between our two nations. In the past century, the United States and Türkiye have accomplished much together, strengthening the ties and cooperation that link our two countries. More than one-million Americans visited Türkiye in 2022, and over 700,000 have already come this year, showing the depth of American appreciation for Turkish heritage and culture. Trade between our countries grew to 34 billion dollars in 2022, and the number of Turkish students in the United States increased at a record rate last year. Türkiye’s contribution to NATO missions and its tireless work to ensure global food security in the wake of Russia’s war are clear examples of its global significance.
As we look forward to the next hundred years of partnership between the United States and Türkiye, I offer my congratulations to the Turkish nation and my deep respect for its founder, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.
