U.S. Consulate Adana, in cooperation with Junior Chamber International (JCI) Diyarbakır, organized the fourth Southeast Businesswomen’s Summit. Van protocol members, U.S. Consul Adana Linda Stuart Specht, U.S. Ambassador John Bass’ spouse Holly Holzer Bass, and JCI Diyarbakır Co-Presidents Didem Yaka and Mustafa Şekercioğlu attended the opening of the Summit.

This year’s Summit is being held in Van on May 20 to 21, and includes approximately 100 women owners of small to medium-sized businesses from numerous cities throughout the east and southeast of Turkey.  There will be seminars, information sessions, and motivational speakers at the Summit, which will give these businesswomen concrete tools for improving their businesses, inspire them to be leaders in their respective communities, and assist them in building their peer network.  The first two summits were held in Diyarbakır and the third one was held in Şanlıurfa.

The Southeast Businesswomen’s Summit arose out of a desire to promote economic and social progress, encouraging women in east and southeast Turkey, as economic leaders in their respective communities, to continue their own efforts in the name of peace and prosperity.
