Event: Potential demonstrations against U.S. policy
The upcoming relocation of the U.S. Embassy in Israel on May 14 may spark protests, some of which have the potential to become violent.
The U.S. Embassy and its Consulates are aware that media sources have reported on several planned protests throughout Turkey on the afternoon of May 11, 2018, and that there will be a protest near the U.S. Embassy in Ankara on the afternoon of May 12, 2018. Additional protests may occur at other times and places. The U.S. Embassy and its Consulates will advise staff to avoid areas where demonstrations or gatherings are occurring.
