
As part of U.S. Department of State’s “Culinary Diplomacy” program, the famous American chef, who brings American cuisine together with international delicacies, Marc Murphy visited Istanbul and Ankara on September 30-October 5.
Marc Murphy began his culinary diplomacy tour in Turkey with a back street tour by Turkish culinary expert Tuba @istanbulfood. On the second day of his Istanbul trip, Chef Marc Murphy visited local markets and cooked with Arda Türkmen – famous host of TV8 food show “Arda’s Kitchen”‘ – in his studio. He then delivered a presentation on entrepreneurship and taught a special risotto skili to the brilliant culinary arts students at Yeditepe University. On Oct 3rd Chef Murphy and the #Gastronomika chefs started the day at the organic market and cooked together at #sezonluktakvim. The Chef enjoyed experimenting with the Anatolian flavours and sharing culinary techniques with young Turkish chefs.
Chef Murphy will be accompanied by Ömür Akkor & Yemek ve Seyahat (Ömür Akkor & Food and Travel) during his visit to Ankara. Murphy will also pay a visit to the students of a vocational high school in Ankara and cook with them.
