Message for U.S. Citizens: Demonstration Alert Nationwide

Location: Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Labor and Social Security offices in Ankara at Emek Mahallesi, Naci AYVALIOĞLU Caddesi Numara: 13 Pk:, 06520 Çankaya/Ankara, in Istanbul outside the Aksaray metro station in the Fatih District, and at various locations in all 81 provinces of Türkiye.

Event: Large gatherings are expected at Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Labor and Social Security office in Ankara, the Aksaray Metro Station in the Fatih District in Istanbul, and at various locations in all 81 provinces of Türkiye on August 18, 2023 starting at 11 a.m.  Any gathering or demonstration, even those intended to be peaceful, could escalate and turn confrontational.

  • Avoid areas around protests and demonstrations.
  • Avoid crowds.
  • Keep a low profile.
  • Be aware of your surroundings.
  • Monitor local media for updates.
