Event:  Earthquakes and aftershocks continue to pose a hazard in Central Mediterranean and Southeast Türkiye.  All non-essential U.S. government travel to these regions has been deferred.  If traveling in this area, be aware of your surroundings and attentive to potential safety risks such as damaged buildings, objects falling from above, and broken or damaged sidewalks and roadways.  Do not enter cordoned-off areas or places where authorities are conducting earthquake response.

Actions to Take:

• Monitor local media for updates.
• Avoid crowds and large gatherings when possible.
• Be aware of your surroundings.
• Ensure good hand hygiene when possible and wear personal protective equipment when appropriate, especially when assisting victims and response teams.
• U.S. citizens in Türkiye should enroll in STEP to receive the latest security and advisory information.
• Individuals in need of shelter or other assistance should check the following websites for local resources:
