American entrepreneur Susan Gregg Koger visited Izmir on June 3-4 to share the ModCloth success story, an online vintage inspired clothing and accessories retailer launched in 2002 during her college years with a passion for fashion.

Koger first met with women entrepreneurs at Bornova Municipality to walk her over the principles when she embarked on her journey. Following her speech on “To Turn Your Passion into Profit in Mobile Life” at Bornova Municipality Breakfast she had an audience of 100 + participants, including the Mayor of Bornova Olgun Atila, CHP Izmir MP Prof. Dr. Hulya Guven and other high level bureaucrats.
She talked on how her startup project ModCloth turned into a 150+ million dollar empire, with 50% mobile app traffic today. Koger then chatted with Izmir Economics University Students on the entrepreneurial spirit, and told them “To persevere” while moving forward with a true passion for achieving their goals. Thoughtful questions from young students highlighted the amazing entrepreneurial energy of Izmir and their true passion for fashion.
During her visit, Koger also visited the Izmir University academics along with the Rector Prof. Dr. Kayhan Erciyeş so that they could use her example as a case study for various disciplines for the next academic year.
