The U.S. Consulate in Adana informs U.S. citizens that a group has announced a protest for Monday, December 18 to protest the U.S. government’s statement on Jerusalem. The protest will start at 12:30 at Inonu Park in Adana. The group will later move to the U.S. Consulate in Adana in a convoy of vehicles around 13:30, when the protest will end. The Consulate will close as of 12:00. U.S. citizens should avoid these areas during the protest.

Even demonstrations intended to be peaceful can turn confrontational and escalate into violence. U.S. citizens should avoid areas of demonstrations, and exercise caution if in the vicinity of any large gatherings, protests, or demonstrations.
