Security Message: World Peace Day Demonstrations

The US Embassy informs U.S. citizens that supporters of “World Peace Day” plan to hold public marches on Tuesday, September 1, during the afternoon and evening in Ankara and Gaziantep. Road closings and traffic disruptions may occur as authorities prepare for crowds.

Ankara

Supporters plan to hold a “Peace Meeting” in the Kizilay Square area.

Gaziantep

Supporters of “World Peace Day” plan to hold a public march in Gaziantep from Kirkayak Park to Demokrasi Park, at 17:00.  The Embassy advises U.S. citizens to avoid the vicinity of the park due to the anticipated crowds and potential road closings.
