Security Message for U.S. Citizens: Safety Concerns in Adana

Consulate General Adana advises U.S. citizens that extremist groups continue aggressive efforts to attack U.S. citizens and other foreigners in Adana. Attacks may be pre-planned or could occur with little or no warning. They include, but are not limited to: armed attacks, attempted kidnappings, bombings, or other violent acts. The Consulate advises U.S. citizens residing in or visiting Adana to review and update their personal security practices before traveling to locations Westerners are known to frequent or reside. U.S. citizens should also exercise increased vigilance and caution in areas easily accessible to the general public.
