Southeast Businesswomen Summit Took Place in Mardin

U.S. Consulate Adana, in cooperation with Junior Chamber International (JCI) Diyarbakır, organized the fifth Southeast Businesswomen’s Summit in Mardin. Turkish Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges (TOBB) Women Entrepreneurs Council Mardin Provincial Chair Deniz Hitay, U.S. Consul Adana Linda Stuart Specht, JCI Turkey President Nihan Zoroğlu and JCI Diyarbakır President Semih Çetintaş, as well as and members Mustafa Şekercioğlu and Didem Yaka attended the opening of the Summit.

This year’s Summit took place in Mardin from May 5 to 6, and included approximately 100 women owners of small to medium-sized businesses from Mardin, Diyarbakır, Şanlıurfa, Adıyaman, Batman, Van, Şırnak, Siirt, Bingöl and Elazığ provinces in the east and southeast of Turkey.  The Summit’s activities included motivational speakers, interactive trainings, and networking opportunities, providing these businesswomen concrete tools for building their businesses, inspiring them to be leaders in their communities, and assisting them in expanding their peer networks.  Past summits have been held in Diyarbakır, Şanlıurfa, and Van.
