American documentary maker and street photographer Cheryl Dunn completed her three-day Ankara visit. This visit is made possible by U.S. Embassy Turkey’s Cultural Affairs Department in partnership with American Film Showcase.
After Turkey debut of Everybody Street documentary on May 10, 2015, Dunn visited two universities in Ankara where she talked to students about her photography and documentary work.
Cheryl Dunn spent a day photo-touring in and around historic Ulus neighborhood in Ankara before her departure. Dunn had a chance to interact with two Turkish photojournalists who accompanied her in the Ankara photo-tour. Dunn took portrait shots of local shop keepers, street vendors and regular people on the street on that day.
Dunn had also a chance to visit Anitkabir, another historic landmark in Ankara, where she received interesting facts from the accompanying photographers who many times were there on duty. Dunn witnessed change of guards ceremony and took several shots there as well. Her Ankara visit’s final stop was UM:AG, Ugur Mumcu Investigative Journalist Foundation, where she ran a brief seminar on photography and her Everybody Street documentary.
