Consul Linda Stuart Specht went on a trip this week to Gaziantep, Sanliurfa and Diyarbakir together with Political/Economic Officer Joanna Schenke. Consul Specht says that it is important for Consulate in Adana to visit various parts of Southeastern Turkey to hear from government officials and citizens about recent developments and to learn their perspectives issues that affect the relationship between the United States and Turkey.
During this trip, Consul Specht has met with political party representatives, to understand their views on political developments. She also met with business-related organizations to learn about economic conditions in the region. And she met with civil society organizations whose programs are of great interest and with whom the Consulate works promoting people-to-people ties, such as refugee support organizations, schools, and lawyers groups.
