U.S. Secretary of the Air Force Deborah Lee James attended the12th International Defense Industry Fair which takes place on May 5-8 this year at TUYAP Expo Center in Istanbul. After attending the inauguration ceremonies on May 5, Secretary James participated in the opening of the USA Security and Defense Pavilion organized by the Association of the U.S. Army (AUSA).

Accompanied by U.S. Ambassador to Turkey John Bass and LTG. R. Roger Thompson, Vice President of Memberships & Meetings/AUSA, Secretary James visited representatives of defense technology companies (Trimble, Falck Schmidt, Dimo Corp., Honeywell, United Technologies, Lockhead Martin, Turkish Aerospace Industries) and the U.S. Commercial Service in Turkey booth at the USA Security and Defense Pavilion.

IDEF 2015 brings together high-level defense industry officials, foreign delegations and companies from around the world in Istanbul. As a high technology international marketing arena, IDEF is the biggest defense industry fair in the Eurasian region and one of the top four in the world. It has been held once in every odd year since 1993  featuring a full range of products, systems, and services for military units and activities.

The USA Security and Defense Pavilion at IDEF 2015 has been a good opportunity to meet the global defense and security community and played an essential role on the development of friendship and cooperation among participating countries.
