Case Status

At the end of your immigrant visa interview, the consular officer will inform you whether your visa application is approved or denied.

Some visa applications require further administrative processing, which takes additional time after the visa applicant’s interview by a consular officer. Applicants are advised of this requirement when they apply. Most administrative processing is resolved within 60 days of the visa interview. When administrative processing is required, the timing will vary based on the individual circumstances of each case.  You can check the status of your visa application on ceac.state.gov.

All nonimmigrant and immigrant visa applicants (including ‘K’ visa applicants) may require administrative processing. While most administrative procedures occur prior to the final immigrant visa interview, in some instances additional processing may be required after the interview. They cannot be expedited and our office does not have any control over them. Applicants should plan their schedules accordingly.

Check Your Case Number: The immigrant visa applicants can check the status of their cases at https://tr.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/iv-status-check/.

Note: If you receive an error message when you enter your case number into the system please contact us.

IMPORTANT: Please note that derivative applicants cannot be issued a visa while their principal applicants’ administrative processing is still pending.

* The date stated next to your case number is NOT a new appointment date.  It is the expiration date of your administrative process. We advise you to send your documents to our office at your earliest convenience when the status of your case is ‘completed’.
